Summary

Auburn Mountainview High School is a public high school serving approximately 1,560 students in grades 9-12 within the Auburn School District in Washington state.

The school has notable strengths, including a graduation rate of 84.5% that exceeds both district and state averages, and particularly strong performance in English Language Arts, where it outperforms most neighboring comprehensive high schools like Auburn Senior High School and Kent-Meridian High School. It maintains a favorable student-teacher ratio and demonstrates effective support for keeping students on track to graduate. However, proficiency in mathematics is a significant challenge, trailing the state average, which creates a notable gap compared to its own success in English.

When compared to schools in the broader area, Auburn Mountainview occupies a middle position. It consistently outperforms Auburn Senior High School within its own district but trails higher-performing schools in the neighboring Kent School District, such as Kentridge High School. The school's statewide ranking has declined over the past decade, and it shows dramatically different levels of effectiveness with various student subgroups, indicating areas where targeted support may be needed to ensure all students thrive.

Open Quote Most of the students are really nice, hallways are clean, and most teachers are helpful all schools have at least one terrible teacher, Auburn Mountainview has several, but again it's not uncommon. The bathrooms always smell like weed. My friends say the food is pretty okay, since I always brought lunch from home. Overall pretty good school. Close Quote
