Napavine School District serves the Napavine area with two schools and 821 students across grades PK–12: Napavine Elementary serves PK–6 with 411 students, while Napavine Junior Senior High School serves grades 7–12 with 410 students. The schools are nearly identical in enrollment, and there is no separate middle or alternative school. The district ranks 96th of 238 Washington districts, placing it in the 60th percentile with a three-star rating.

Napavine Elementary currently has the stronger academic profile, ranking in the 56th percentile compared with the high school’s 41st percentile. Elementary students performed especially well in science, with 68.42% proficient, well above district and state results, while math proficiency reached 45.69%, also above the state. However, elementary ELA was lower at 47.64%, with 4th and 5th grades showing the greatest need for improvement. At Napavine Junior Senior High School, ELA was a relative strength at 53.47%, slightly above the state, but math was much weaker at 34.65%, particularly in 10th grade, where only 20.83% of students were proficient. High school science also remained below district and state averages.

Both schools improved substantially in assessment results and statewide rankings in 2025–2026 after a weaker prior year. The high school also reported strong completion outcomes: an 89.2% graduation rate and a 5.3% dropout rate, both better than statewide results. Per-student spending was nearly identical, at about $14,700, while the elementary school had a lower student-teacher ratio than the high school—15.9 compared with 19.1 students per teacher. For families, the district’s clearest strengths are elementary science and math, high school ELA, and graduation outcomes. The main areas to watch are elementary ELA, secondary math—especially 10th grade—and high school science.
