My 15-yr-old son attended this school 7 yrs ago. He was angry, belligerent and using drugs. Did he learn at Discovery? Sure. Did he take responsibility for his actions? Somewhat. Did Discovery help him repair his broken relationship with his father? No, but that’s not the fault of the school. Did he stop using drugs? No, but again, not the school's fault. Still, I got the sense that individuality was discouraged. All the boys learned responsibility, etc., but if you broke the rules, you were taken away from the others until you fell in line. A few months after my son "graduated," and he was starting to revert to his previous behavior and personality, he confessed that he felt like the school had brainwashed him. So even if they were able to "fix" his flaws, it was only temporary. The cost of the school ($55,000 a year in 2011) was most definitely not worth what he got out of it. Close Quote
