Holy Family Catholic School

While I would rate HFCS high in academics, our family found communication with the school frustrating. Three examples: 1 - I communicated in writing with my child's teacher three times at the beginning of the school year (10/11) to find out their general schedule - what days were PE, art, Spanish. I sent notes via the general grade e-mail address, to the teacher's e-mail address, and finally a hard-copy note sent in with my child. I never received a reply. 2. An announcement of the Christmas program was sent home with students two days prior to the event, while remarks made during the program indicated that the students had been rehearsing for two weeks. The impression, since the program was combined with a PTO fund raiser, was that it was more of a ploy to boost attendance to the fund raiser than to celebrate the season. 3. While a drama-club event was long on the school schedule for the spring, there was no notification sent to let parents know that each grade would be performing a musical piece prior to the play. Our family found out from another parent three days after the event.

The school does have a weekly newsletter (sent via e-mail), and a robust notification system for weather related delays and closings.

I am a parent of both a first grade student and a pre-school student and I have the utmost confidence that my children are in the best place possible for development of a students whole being. The education they received last year exceeded my expectations. I saw tremendous growth and confidence in both of my children. I look forward to giving my children the gift of continuing their primary education years at Holy Family.
