As part of the Prince William County Public Schools district, Featherstone has consistently outperformed the district and state averages in mathematics, science, and English reading proficiency across grades 3-5.

Featherstone's strong academic performance is particularly notable in supporting the achievement of specific student subgroups, such as Hispanic students and English Language Learners (ELLs). Open Quote This school is definitely not a diverse school, almost 80% of the population here is hispanic. I feel that so much time is taken learning the lessons in both english and spanish that my english only speaking daughter isn't being challenged enough in her studies which allows her the opportunity to "slack off". Something should be done so that so much time isn't wasted during the school day. Close Quote
