As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Jefferson Academy is a great school. It’s organized, cared for, and a happy place to be. The grade level teachers care so much about the students success in the classroom and are willing to do anything to help them reach their full potential. I love that each student is tested at the beginning of the year and then placed in a leveled class for reading and math. It makes me know the children are getting extra practice in the subject if they need it and if they are ahead, are receiving above grade level education. Jefferson has a full library, a fun P.E. program, successful music programs, and learn new techniques in art each week. The director at Jefferson Academy wants the staff and students to succeed and does everything she can to make Jefferson a great environment. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is fantastic. I have been working here for 5 years and absolutely love the school's environment. Honestly, my commute here is super long and I have thought about working at a closer school, but I will brave the commute to work here! The director is incredibly positive and organized, providing us with all the resources we need. I am constantly impressed how she really talks and connects with students. The other teachers are so creative and supportive, providing safe and caring classroom communities. The students are enthusiastic and well cared for. If I had children, I would choose to send them to this school! Close Quote

Open Quote This school is amazing. I've been working here for 3 years and all other schools I've worked at didn't even come close to our standards. Every student is cared about and administration works very hard to make sure that no one falls through the cracks. Our director make sure that all needs are met, both student and staff. This school is why I am for school choice. If you have the option to send your child here, you should. Close Quote

Open Quote What an amazing school! The focus on history builds character and really helps children learn about our country and develop a love of their country! Open Quote This school's administration needs to have a serious overhaul. The director is unqualified, emotionally immature and lacks the leadership skills necessary to successfully run a school. Many teachers are unhappy and several families have left the school throughout the year. Kids are not in a nurturing environment and not taught to think for themselves. If administration and several teachers were replaced with caring professionals this school would thrive. Close Quote

Open Quote I do not recommend this school. The board is running it into the ground and teachers and patrons are leaving. We will not be sending our kids back next year. The board chose to let the principal Mr. Bell go despite the outcry from the parents and teachers. He was the success behind the school. The board does not allow the parents to have any voice whatsoever, and they constantly overstep their bounds. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
