Summary:
Freedom Preparatory Academy operates three Utah schools serving grades PK–12: the main Freedom Preparatory Academy, PK–6 Freedom Preparatory Academy – Vineyard, and K–12 Freedom Preparatory Academy Washington.
The schools serve about 2,165 students and have different academic profiles. Freedom Preparatory Academy – Vineyard is the strongest overall performer, particularly in elementary mathematics and science: 3rd-grade math proficiency was 74.4%, 4th-grade math was 67.6%, and 4th-grade science was 67.6%. Its school ranking also improved from the 45th to the 68th percentile between 2023–24 and 2025–26. Freedom Preparatory Academy Washington shows promising results in upper elementary grades, including reported proficiency ranges of 60–78% in 6th-grade ELA and 70–88% in 6th-grade science, although its 3rd- through 5th-grade math and 5th-grade science results are weaker. Parents should note that these ranges are not exact percentages.
The largest concerns are at the main Freedom Preparatory Academy campus, where 7th-grade results were well below state levels in ELA, math, and science, and high-school proficiency was especially low in mathematics: 18.0% in 9th grade and 12.0% in 10th grade. At the same time, its 94.0% graduation rate exceeded Utah’s 89.8%, showing that graduation and test performance tell different parts of the story. Attendance is a concern at every campus: chronic absenteeism ranged from 25.2% at the main campus to 32.5% at Freedom Preparatory Academy Washington, compared with 23.8% statewide. The schools share the Freedom Preparatory Academy district designation, but families should compare individual campuses by grade and subject rather than rely on the district rating.
