Summary:

Clinton, Utah, has four elementary schools serving students from kindergarten or pre-kindergarten through sixth grade: West Clinton School, Clinton School, Voyage Academy, and Parkside School; together, they enroll about 2,128 students, with three schools in Davis District and Voyage Academy associated with the Voyage Academy district.

Voyage Academy is the clear academic leader. It ranked 124th of 563 Utah schools, in the 78th percentile, and had the highest average proficiency in English language arts, math, and science. Its science results were especially strong, averaging about 76%, with more than 70% proficiency in fourth, fifth, and sixth grade. It also improved substantially over three years. However, its chronic absenteeism rate of 49.2% is exceptionally high and should be an important consideration for families. Parkside School offers the strongest attendance profile, with only 14.1% chronic absenteeism, the lowest student-to-teacher ratio, and solid science results. Its ranking has nevertheless dropped considerably, so parents may want to ask about recent changes and current instructional priorities.

Clinton School is showing encouraging improvement, rising 64 ranking positions in one year and gaining in both math and science. It currently performs better overall than West Clinton School, which has the lowest current ranking and weakest ELA average among the four schools. West Clinton’s relative strength is science, while ELA and math—especially sixth-grade math—need attention. Across the area, sixth-grade math is the most consistent weakness: only Parkside exceeded the statewide rate. Science is generally the strongest subject, while math and ELA offer the greatest opportunities for improvement. Attendance, teacher ratios, and enrollment do not consistently predict academic results, so families should consider school-specific programs, leadership, support services, and recent trends alongside the published scores.
