Open Quote Everything sounds great online and when speaking to the administration office. I went in for a tour last week and everything in the classroom seemed interactive and the teacher was great with the students. The administration ladies that accompanied the tour did state somethings that appeared to contradict themselves and what I was seeing, which raised a flag. When I was walking in the hallway I looked around at the nice art work on display and peeked in classrooms to see the learning areas. Just as I was making my way to the exit I looked into a classroom window and noticed a teacher interacting with a student however the teacher appeared to be scolding the small child while grabbing their arm. I wasn't sure if this was the norm or mayby the administration staff didn't see what I saw but it raised another flag. Maybe its an isolated observation but I couldn't imagine what the little one could have possibly done. As a parent I hope to see my child in a loving learning atmosphere and would have hoped the administration would not condone scolding interactions towards small children. I will take my complete tour into considering this school and speak with other parents from my company. Close Quote

Open Quote We do not recommend this school. WPS had two great years of positive growth evidenced by increases in staff retention and training, student enrollment and family satisfaction. Then, in May of last year the school’s owner (who is not an educator but the only member of the WPS Board) announced a series of (in our opinion) incomprehensible and alarming changes that resulted in the headmaster, many other staff and families (especially in the Upper School) choosing to leave, en masse. NB: Previously, under this owner, WPS has had 13 headmasters in 3 years, high staff turn-over, little to no promised building or expansion and numerous negative reviews. Regardless of the new PR campaign, what happened in May, reconfirms the degree to which WPS is an unstable and unreliable choice for your child’s education. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
