Summary

C C Hardy Elementary is a K-5 school in Willis, TX, serving 756 students within the Willis Independent School District (Isd), where over 84% of students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The school is currently ranked in the 7th percentile statewide, a significant drop from its 39th percentile ranking just a few years ago. This places it as the lowest-performing elementary school in its district, with a stark performance gap compared to nearby schools. For example, in 4th grade math, only 20% of C C Hardy students were proficient, while Eddie Ruth Lagway Elementary and W Lloyd Meador Elementary—both just a few miles away—achieved proficiency rates of nearly 59% and 53%, respectively. Similarly, 5th grade science proficiency at C C Hardy was just 8.5%, compared to 50% at Lagway. These disparities are closely tied to the school's high poverty rate, which is more than double that of its higher-performing district peers.

While the school spends slightly more per student than some nearby schools, its academic challenges are intensifying. All student subgroups are struggling, with White students ranking in the 1st percentile and Gifted and Talented students in the 4th percentile statewide. There is a glimmer of progress in Special Education, which saw a notable improvement to the 49th percentile in 2024-2025, though this gain may not be sustained. Overall, C C Hardy requires intensive, targeted support to address the specific needs of its high-poverty student body.

Open Quote This is a very horrible school.. first of all my daughter who is in the first grade was choked on the olay ground by another first grader and the school is doing absolutely nothing about it he has choked so many students hes stabbed students with penils hes punched kids soo much its put a few in the hosptial and all the school does is call home which does absolutely nothing because the kid still does it!!!! Ive called both principals superintendent the administrators at the superintendents office ive called the sheriffs office in which they contacted me with a school cop who has done absolutely nothing!!!! Its going to take a kid dieing before they do something about this kid and they better pray and hope its not my child!!!! Other problems they only give the kids 15 mins to get 600+ kids thru a line at breakfast sit down and eat all with in 15 mins and if they are not done by 8:25 they have to throw their food in the trash... they wont open the doors until 8:05.. my child is at the top of her entire grade in math and reading and they just have completely stopped teaching her any furter instead of pushing her to go further!!!!
