Summary

Springwoods Village Middle is a 6-8 grade campus in Spring, TX, serving 590 students within the Spring Independent School District (Isd), and it stands out as a bright spot in a district facing significant challenges.

The school’s most impressive feature is its exceptional Algebra I program. In 2025-2026, a staggering 94% of 8th graders taking the STAAR End-of-Course exam were proficient—more than double the state average and nearly 2.5 times the district average. This performance rivals top schools in neighboring districts, such as Knox J H (99.59%) and York J H (93.02%) in Conroe Independent School District (Isd), and far exceeds district peers like Twin Creeks Middle (86.84%) and Rickey C Bailey Middle (78.38%). However, this strength contrasts sharply with grade-level math, where only 16.54% of 7th graders and 34.91% of 8th graders were proficient—well below state averages. The school also shows strong reading scores, with 60.11% of 8th graders proficient, but struggles in social studies (29.79% proficiency).

Springwoods Village has shown remarkable improvement for its economically disadvantaged students, who make up 62.71% of the student body. In just one year, this subgroup jumped from the bottom 26th percentile statewide to the 72nd percentile, earning a 4-star rating. Special education students also improved significantly, from the bottom 6th percentile to the 42nd percentile. While the school cannot match the resources of more affluent neighbors like York J H (23.89% economically disadvantaged), its upward trajectory and standout advanced math program make it a compelling choice for families seeking a school that is actively improving and delivering exceptional results in key areas.

Open Quote Wow, this school is amazing so far. We came to the "meet the teacher" event on August 13th, 2019. This is the first year they have opened, so it was understandably unorganized, and a bit understaffed for the crowds, but they certainly did their best. The facility is spacious, brand new, state-of-the-art, and a great location. Teachers were helpful when asked questions and friendly too. I have high hopes for my son's education here and look forward to this school year! Close Quote
