Summary

Twin Creeks Middle in Spring, TX, serves 848 students in grades 6-8 and is part of the Spring Independent School District (Isd), a district ranking in the bottom 22nd percentile statewide, with over 81% of students qualifying for free or reduced lunch.

The most striking feature of Twin Creeks is its "two schools" phenomenon. While grade-level math proficiency is critically low—only 10% of 7th graders were proficient in 2025-2026—its Algebra I program is a standout success, with proficiency rates (86.84%) that rival top-performing schools like York J H (93.02%) in the Conroe Independent School District (Isd) and the Young Womens Leadership Academy (89.25%) in Aldine Independent School District (Isd). This suggests a highly effective advanced math track, but it also raises equity concerns, as the majority of students struggle with core concepts. The school has experienced a steady decade-long decline in state ranking, dropping from the 57th percentile in 2016 to its current 17th percentile (1 star).

Compared to nearby schools, Twin Creeks reflects broader socioeconomic patterns. High-poverty schools in Spring Independent School District (Isd) and Aldine Independent School District (Isd), such as Dueitt Middle and Lewis Middle, show similarly low rankings, while lower-poverty schools in Conroe Independent School District (Isd) and Klein Independent School District (Isd), like Clark Intermediate and Schindewolf Intermediate, perform dramatically better. On a positive note, Twin Creeks maintains a lower dropout rate than the district average and shows relative strength in serving special education and English language learners, with those groups performing in the 38th-48th percentile range.

Open Quote In my opinion the administration at Twin Creeks is lacking. We applied for a transfer to the school, as did quiet a few other families. We were told to leave our child's application and that there would be a committee review to choose the transfer students who would be accepted for next school year. We left our sons application and attached to it was an envelope with letters of recommendation from 4 of his teachers. They never even opened the envelope to read the letters ,the Staples and tape were still in tack on the envelope. We waited for over a week and when we called today to check on the status they told us to come in that the paper was signed. When we arrived we were told that the transfer had been denied due to the over crowding of the school they wouldn't be accepting any transfer students this year. So they made our family and all of the other families wait all this time just to tell us they didn't have the space for new transfers. It would have been more professional if they had told us and all of the other families that no one ould be accepted due to over crowding. We waisted all of this time on Twin Creeks when we could have applied at other school who were accepting transfers. Close Quote
