As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote The school offers many course selections, Advanced placement studies, Dual College course credits, and an abundance of student activities, clubs, organizations, and opportunities for the students to not only become a part of their school but also our community. These teachers and educators are pro-students in EVERY regard. If a student isn't doing well, they only have themselves to blame. There are MANY opportunities for additional help including peer tutoring, teacher tutoring, websites, individual assistance and the like. It only takes the student to voice their need. Great job for the district bringing in Jennifer Young as the Principal. She does a WONDERFUL job keeping parents in the know with weekly e-mails. This isn't private school, but I feel my children are receiving the best public education they can get. I will say I might change my mind next year since the district chose to go back to block scheduling which I am TOTALLY against. I feel the students need to be in EVERY class, EVERY day in order to be held accountable for their work and for the concepts to be repeated over and over again so they are not just learning them to complete their tests. Also, the block scheduling makes students choose between items such as playing sports or attending classes at the Technical high school. They should be able to do both so shame on MISD for not allowing the students the opportunity to try as many things as they want. Again, my opinion but high school should be the time in their lives when they DO get to experience and explore different avenues to see where they excel. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
