Summary

Blake Manor Elementary is a PK-5 school in Manor, TX, serving 573 students within the Manor Independent School District (Isd), a district that has faced significant challenges.

Blake Manor Elementary has experienced a dramatic decline in academic performance over the past several years. While the school achieved its best ranking in the 51st percentile in 2018-2019, it has since fallen to the 7th percentile, a much steeper drop than nearby schools. A critical area of concern is science, where only 3.28% of 5th graders were proficient in the 2024-2025 school year—the lowest rate among all comparable schools in the area. The school also has the highest student-teacher ratio (22.5 students per teacher) of any nearby school, which is likely hindering individualized instruction. Performance varies widely by grade level, suggesting that student success is heavily dependent on specific teachers rather than a consistent school-wide system. For example, 5th-grade reading proficiency (51.47%) was nearly double that of 4th-grade reading (27.69%) in the 2025-2026 school year.

Interestingly, Manor Rise Academy, another school in the same district just 3.25 miles away, ranks in the 53rd percentile, demonstrating that high achievement is possible within Manor ISD. This suggests Blake Manor’s struggles are tied to school-specific factors like leadership and class sizes. There is a glimmer of hope in the 5th-grade cohort, which outperformed the district average in reading. However, the school’s Spanish program is critically underperforming, with 0% proficiency in 4th-grade math, indicating that English Language Learners are not receiving adequate support. Overall, the school is failing to meet the needs of its most vulnerable students, with subgroups like Special Education students ranking in the 1st percentile.

Open Quote very poor district and very poor school. unfortunately this presents a bad combination and the end result is a poor education. the teachers seem to be in the same boat as the students and the school seems to run on the verge of chaos. if your child is smart the reality is that they will be as smart as the slowest student. also because the hispanic density is so high most of the children do not speak english, which also holds the rest of the students back.
thank god i'm moving out of state! Close Quote
