Summary

Lowell H Strike Middle in Little Elm, TX, serves 881 students in grades 6-8 and is part of the Little Elm Independent School District (Isd), a district that has shown steady improvement. The school itself is on a clear upward trajectory, climbing from the 44th percentile statewide in 2022-2023 to a 65th percentile ranking in 2025-2026, earning it a 3-star rating. This positive trend is a key indicator of school-wide effectiveness, and the school is outperforming its district peer, Jerry R Walker Middle, in nearly every subject area.

The most impressive differentiator for Lowell H Strike is its exceptional performance in advanced mathematics. The school’s Algebra I End-of-Course exam proficiency rates have consistently been dramatically higher than both the district and state averages, reaching 87.5% proficient in 2025-2026 compared to the state’s 54.03%. This indicates a highly effective program for identifying and preparing students for advanced math. However, the school faces a "barbell" effect: while its top math students excel, grade-level math proficiency, particularly in 7th grade, is a significant area of concern, with only 19.8% of students proficient in 2025-2026. The school also demonstrates strong, consistent performance in reading across all grades, outperforming district and state averages in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.

When compared to nearby schools in the Frisco Independent School District (Isd), such as Hunt Middle or Griffin Middle, which are consistently ranked in the 91st-99th percentile, Lowell H Strike is not outperforming them. However, it is performing remarkably well given its demographic context, significantly outpacing other schools with similar student populations, like Lakeview Middle and Staley Middle. The school has also shown monumental improvement in serving its special education students, with their ranking jumping from the 11th percentile to the 69th percentile in just two years, suggesting targeted interventions are working.

Open Quote I luckily attended this school for only one year, but my younger brother isn't as lucky. I have been told not only by him, but also the parents of other students, and some students as well that this school has a bit of a bullying problem (some students got pulled out to get homeschooled) Most of the good staff have been replaced (i'm sure some are still good). My experience hasn't been as bad as my brothers, and I am thankful that this is his last year. Close Quote
