Summary

Glenn High School in Leander, TX, is a large public high school serving approximately 2,024 students in grades 9-12 within the highly-rated Leander Independent School District (Isd), and it has shown impressive, consistent improvement over the past several years, climbing from a 2-star to a 4-star rating.

One of the school's standout strengths is its exceptional support for Special Education students, who now rank in the 79th percentile statewide—a dramatic improvement that sets Glenn apart from nearby schools like Cedar Park High School and Vista Ridge High School. However, the school faces a notable challenge in Algebra I, where only 35.5% of students are proficient, compared to the district average of 65%. This is the largest academic gap among all subjects and is lower than at nearby schools like Rouse High School (45%). On a brighter note, Biology is a clear strength, with 82.5% proficiency—nearly matching or exceeding peers like Liberty Hill High School (81.3%) and Leander High School (77%).

While Glenn serves a more economically diverse student body (23.5% eligible for free/reduced lunch) compared to district rivals like Cedar Park (11.7%) and Vista Ridge (10.3%), its overall upward trajectory is a testament to effective school leadership. The school's graduation rate (95.5%) is solid but slightly lower than other Leander ISD high schools, and its dropout rate (0.8%) is the highest among them. For context, Glenn is located just 11 miles from Westwood High School in Round Rock Independent School District (Isd), a 5-star school that outperforms Glenn in every subject, highlighting the competitive regional landscape. Overall, Glenn is a school on the rise, with clear strengths in special education and science, but with a critical need to address its Algebra I performance.

Open Quote Racial profiling must be addressed at this campus. And the staff at this school is so sick and discussing they had bets placed on how many students they could catch vaping. Maybe if the educators spent as much time teaching there classes as they do looking for kids with vapes this school would be worth attending. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is full of bigoted teachers who gossip about there students and ignore there needs. And the admin would rather protect the teachers than addressing the concerns and needs of there students. If you or you child choose to be educated in this school you will not receive a education. You will be trained to pass standardized test and constantly mentally harassed by staff and educators... Close Quote
