Summary

Mance Park Middle is a public middle school located in Huntsville, Texas, serving grades 7-8 with a total enrollment of 882 students. The school is part of the Huntsville Independent School District (ISD), which is ranked 831 out of 961 districts in Texas and has a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger. Mance Park Middle has consistently ranked in the bottom half of Texas middle schools over the past several years, with a 2-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Mance Park Middle consistently underperforms the state and district averages on STAAR (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) tests across all grade levels and subject areas. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, the school's proficiency rates in reading, math, science, and social studies were all significantly lower than the state and district averages. Additionally, Mance Park Middle has relatively high dropout rates compared to the state and district, ranging from 0.8% to 3.5% over the past few years. The school also has a high percentage of students eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, ranging from 66.22% to 73.89% over the past few years, suggesting a high proportion of students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds.

Interestingly, Mance Park Middle's performance is generally lower than the nearby Huntsville Intermediate School, which serves grades 5-6 and is also part of the Huntsville ISD. Additionally, the Texas Online Preparatory Middle, which is also part of the Huntsville ISD, outperforms Mance Park Middle on most STAAR test metrics, despite being a virtual school. These comparisons suggest that Mance Park Middle faces significant challenges in providing a quality education to its students.

Open Quote Mance Park middle school has terrific teachers who dedicate their time to our kids. They care about our kids being successful in life. I recommend the Pre-AP classes. Those teachers are fantastic and they go out of their way to help tutor students after hours, if necessary. The school has so much opportunity for extra-curricular activities, as well.
