Summary

Humble Elementary is a public elementary school serving grades PK-5 in the Humble Independent School District (ISD) in Humble, Texas. The school has 645 students and a student-teacher ratio of 12.4, and has consistently been rated 2 out of 5 stars by SchoolDigger, ranking in the lower half of Texas elementary schools.

Humble Elementary's academic performance, as measured by STAAR test scores, is generally below the district and state averages across grade levels and subject areas. For example, in 2024-2025, the school's 3rd grade reading proficiency rate is 40.24%, compared to 51.17% for the Humble ISD and 52.02% for Texas. The school's performance is particularly low in mathematics, with only 23.75% of 3rd graders and 43.3% of 5th graders meeting proficiency standards. However, the school performs relatively well for African American and Hispanic students, ranking in the top half of Texas elementary schools for these groups.

Humble Elementary's high percentage of economically disadvantaged students, at 77.98% in 2023-2024, is significantly higher than the state average and likely contributes to the school's academic challenges. The school's performance is also lower than that of nearby schools within the Humble ISD, such as Foster Elementary and Lakeland Elementary, which tend to have higher academic proficiency rates and better overall rankings. While Humble Elementary's performance has been consistently low, there are some signs of improvement over time, and addressing the needs of the school's economically disadvantaged population and improving overall academic performance should be key priorities for the Humble ISD.

Open Quote I have no idea where the above review came from but our school nurse calls me each time one of my children get hurt asap. This school is a wonderful blessing to our family from the teachers to front desk to cafeteria workers. I love the staff for their patience and love of their job. I have 2 children that attend the dual language program and I pray my 3rd kid starts this program as well. thank you Humble el and staff! Close Quote

Open Quote horrible horrible school.... locking kids outside with no teacher.. principle hides out so u cant talk to her. and lies about not being there. teachers think its cute to play rap music and dance like strippers on stage at talent show. teachers come to work just to get paid.. no teaching going on. no homework or study sheets. if your child gets hurt dont count on the nurse to call you until hours after it happens....
