Summary

Corbell Elementary is a PK-5 school in Frisco, TX, serving 509 students as part of the highly-regarded Frisco Independent School District (Isd), which ranks in the 96th percentile statewide.

Corbell is a solid, above-average school that consistently earns a 4-star rating, but it operates in a neighborhood of exceptionally high-performing schools. Within a 2-mile radius, schools like Nichols Elementary (99th percentile), Pink Elementary (98th percentile), and Sparks Elementary (98th percentile) consistently achieve 5-star ratings. Corbell’s 85th percentile ranking, while excellent statewide, places it near the bottom of this elite local cohort. The school shows a clear strength in Reading, where scores are competitive with the district average, but this is undermined by a persistent weakness in Mathematics, particularly in 3rd and 4th grades, where proficiency rates have lagged behind the district average.

Despite these challenges, Corbell demonstrates remarkable effectiveness with specific student groups. The school is a standout for English Language Learner (ELL) students and Special Education students, both ranking in the 89th percentile statewide. This indicates highly effective support systems for these populations. The school also has a higher percentage of students from low socio-economic status (22.99%) compared to its highest-performing neighbors, which provides important context for its performance. For parents considering Corbell, the school offers a good education with strong reading instruction and exceptional support for ELL and special education students, though it faces stiff competition from nearby elite schools and has room for improvement in mathematics.

Open Quote Our daughter has done kinder and now going through first grade (2009). SHE LOVES IT!!! The teachers are heavily involved and promote family involvement (in some eyes maybe to much). But I rather have more than not enough. We will be moving soon and she is heart broken as we are. She is right on pace for learning and gets proper feedback. The aftercare program is affordable and run by teachers, they do a great job as well. Our daughter requests that we pick her up as late as possible. If I had a critique it would be that the teachers may be a little strict with kids being kids, however, traditional schools all do this in my opinion. Corbell is GREAT and any kid would be lucky to go to this public school. Close Quote
