The school itself ranks near the state median (49th percentile, 2 stars) for 2025–26, after climbing to a 4-star peak a few years ago and slipping since.

There are genuine bright spots. Social studies is a clear strength, with 52.9% of students proficient in 2025–26, outpacing both the district (52.0%) and state (51.4%), and the school has beaten state averages in this subject for three straight years. Chronic absenteeism has also improved dramatically, falling from 22.9% to 16.6%—now better than the district and state averages, and far lower than nearby schools like Carter Middle (30.1%) or Northview Intermediate (29.6%). In addition, low-income, African American, and Hispanic students have all performed at or above the school’s overall percentile rank in recent years, showing that the school can succeed with diverse learners.
