W. E. Parker is one of the most impressive turnaround stories in the region. Just three years ago, the school ranked in the 23rd percentile statewide; today it sits in the 62nd percentile—a remarkable climb of 250 positions. This momentum is visible in the classroom, particularly in upper elementary grades. In 4th grade math, 69.8% of students scored proficient, which is 17.5 points above the state average and the highest among all nearby schools. The 5th grade English Language Arts performance is equally strong at 74.6% proficiency, outpacing the state by 11 points. The school also shines in 4th grade science, beating the district average by more than 12 points. What makes these results even more notable is that 100% of students qualify for free/reduced lunch, yet the school outperforms several neighboring schools with more resources.
