ZIP code 02895 has 12 schools, serving students from elementary grades through high school, including seven elementary campuses, three middle schools and two high schools. Across the elementary campuses, average proficiency is 15.1% in ELA, under 12.5% in math and 13.3% in science, compared with state results of 33.1%, 31.9% and 31.1%; middle-school averages are lower still, at 9.3%, 7.4% and 9.1%. High-school results are more mixed, but the area’s most important pattern is that proficiency at most local schools trails the state by a wide margin.

BEACON Charter School is the clearest high-school standout: it leads Woonsocket High School in all five reported measures, by 2.4 to 28.4 percentage points, and is above the state in science and PSAT10 math. SchoolDigger ranks BEACON 29th of 58 statewide schools; Woonsocket High is below the state in all five measures. Among elementary campuses, RISE Prep Lower Academy leads all-grades ELA and math at 26.4% and 24.6%, though it serves K–8; among K–5 schools, Leo A. Savoie School leads ELA and math, while Globe Park School leads science. Pothier-Citizens Elementary Campus has the lowest elementary ELA, math and science results and ranks last in the state on SchoolDigger’s ranking. Among middle schools, Woonsocket Middle at Hamlet leads ELA and math, while Founders Academy leads science.

Recent changes are uneven: the six elementary schools with comparable results improved their average ELA by 2.3 points but declined 3.6 points in science; middle-school science fell 6.0 points on average. Individual schools also moved in different directions: Savoie’s ELA rose 8.1 points, while RISE Prep’s science fell 11.8 points. SchoolDigger’s three-year statewide percentile declined for both high schools—8 points for Woonsocket High and 11 for BEACON—while Hamlet rose 10 points. The high schools report similar free/reduced-lunch rates, 66.01% at BEACON and 67.01% at Woonsocket High, despite their contrasting scores; this is context, not an explanation of results. RISE Prep’s K–8 grade span differs from the K–5 elementary schools, so its all-grades results are not a like-for-like comparison.
