The high-school options in MET Career and Technical consist of one school, Metropolitan Career Technical Center, serving grades 9–12. The most important finding for families is a sharp contrast in outcomes: the school’s 2024–25 graduation rate was well above the state rate, while its reported 2025–26 proficiency results were below state results in every subject comparison.
Metropolitan Career Technical Center is both the highest- and lowest-performing school in this group by default, so there is no meaningful comparison between local schools. Its clearest strength is graduation: 97.3% of students graduated in 2024–25, compared with 85.5% statewide and 96.9% districtwide. Test results show a different picture. In 2025–26, proficiency was 33.7% in grade 11 SAT English and 7% in SAT mathematics, respectively 14.1 and 16.5 percentage points below the state. Grade 10 PSAT10 results were 38.2% in English and under 5% in mathematics, gaps of 17.8 and more than 24.3 points. Science proficiency was 12.9%, 18.2 points below the state. Mathematics, especially grade 10, is the largest reported concern.
The school’s relative position weakened on the comparable English measures: its SAT English score fell from 38.2% in 2024–25 to 33.7% in 2025–26, while its gap from the state widened from 13.4 to 14.1 points; its PSAT10 English score fell from 43.2% to 38.2%, and the gap widened from 11.6 to 17.8 points. Grade 10 PSAT10 mathematics also declined from 5.5% to under 5%, while the state result rose from 26.5% to 29.3%. Science proficiency increased from 10.8% to 12.9%.
