The Iroquois School District is improving very quickly. Their SPP scores (School Performance Profile) have shown a major improvement. The budget cuts that hit ISD hard have now been overcome. There are many new administrators in the district and a supportive school board. The district continues to be a cost effective provider of a quality education for residents of the district. With cut backs in funding, the class sizes have become too large, due to downsizing of qualified teachers. There was a shifting of teachers to classes that they are not necessarily qualified to teach, and the children/students are the ones left without a quality education. When the administration was asked about a plan to correct this situation, no follow up was given.
I would not recommend moving to this school district. In fact we are looking to take our student out of this terrible situation! Close Quote
