Open Quote This school lacks educational quality in every way. My daughter was basically punished for doing more work than she was supposed to because she was done with her assigned work before the other kids. She became bored and was not allowed to get her book to read quietly. This type of punishment discourages children to try harder. This teaches a philosophy of "it's okay to be bored and lazy". This is a general problem in our society these days and now I am seeing how we are instilling this thought process in our children. Heaven forbid we should encourage intelligent children, let's squash them down and make them feel inadequate instead so that our society can go further down the path that we are inevitably on. I am moving her out of this school and this district. It has a ranking of a 2 on a scale of 1-10. They have bullies in the classes as well who are allowed to be mean to other children. They also have kids with severe hygiene issues that are not addressed. My daughter comes home saying "axe" instead of ask, and "valentimes" instead of valentines because this is the type of language and grammar she hears on a daily basis. If you can afford it, move. If you cannot afford it, find a school that welcomes open enrollment and get them to that school Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
