Open Quote This type of education is not for ever student but I'm vary happy with this school. I'm not sure what promises the school made that are not being fulfilled according to the other parent because cyber school puts emphasis on self-motivation, so you have to be responsible for your child getting the work done.
What I like:
1. Class is only an hour a day, most assignments take about an hour to complete, some projects take a few days
2. There is a virtual office where teachers are available to help with homework from morning to night
3. The assignments are challenging and relevant
4. Classes can be accessed any where you have an Internet connection (my daughter can go with me on business trips)
5. There is a learning coach that calls every 2 or 3 weeks to inform of progress or need for improvement so there is no surprise when the report card arrives
6. The teachers are very thorough with their lectures (I enjoy listening)
7. The teachers also have better than average communication skills and computer knowledge
8. The school provides "incentives" for the students to do their best by offering such items as gift-cards to book stores and itunes
9. Moodle, the on-line classroom platform, is very easy to use
10. There are numerous field trips throughout the year
11. If the student works ahead they may have an extra long summer vacation Close Quote

Open Quote In essence, this school promises the world but delivers on very little. My child has never had difficulty getting and maintaing excellent grades and so we thought we'd give 21CCCS a try due to their "out of the box" curriculum -- but I wish we'd never transfered. Very little of what we initially bought into came to fruition; all we ended up with was disappointment and frustration. Close Quote
