It is the largest elementary school in its district and the second-largest in this comparison group. Its district is one of the stronger in the state, but Holcomb itself ranked 430th of 709 elementary schools statewide in 2025-26 — 39th percentile, 2 stars — placing it well below its own district's standing.

In 2025-26, Holcomb's proficiency was below both its district and the state in every core subject: 37.8% in English language arts, 32.8% in math, and 26.9% in science. Math is close to the state average (32.9%), while reading and science show the larger gaps.
