Sisters School District 6 is a small, high-performing Oregon district with three schools — one elementary (K–5), one middle (6–8), and one high school (9–12) — serving roughly 1,170 students in the Sisters area. The district ranks 8th of 141 Oregon districts (94th percentile, 5 stars), and all three schools earned 4-star ratings in 2025–2026.

Sisters Middle School is the academic standout: it is the only school above the district average in all three all-grades subjects (ELA 60.2%, math 42.9%, science 60%), and it also has the lowest chronic absenteeism (19.4%), the smallest classes (13.3 students per teacher), and the highest per-student spending ($21,104). Sisters High School is the most improved, climbing from 1 star and the 21st percentile in 2023–24 to 4 stars and the 79th percentile in 2025–26, with a 94.5% graduation rate — 11.5 points above the state. Sisters Elementary School, the largest at 491 students, stays above state averages in every subject but has slipped in rank from the 82nd to the 71st percentile over three years, with math (42.9%) its strongest subject.

Science is the district's signature strength: the middle and high schools both reach 60% all-grades science proficiency, compared with the state's 30.6%, and the elementary school is also above the state at 43.5%. Economic need is nearly identical across the three schools (about 52% free/reduced lunch), so the differences in results are not explained by differing poverty levels. Chronic absenteeism does track with outcomes — lowest at the middle school (19.4%), highest at the high school (33.2%).
