Summary:

Aloha, Oregon has five elementary schools serving roughly 1,756 students across PK–5, K–6, and PK–6 grade configurations. Four of them — Tobias Elementary School, Indian Hills Elementary School, Butternut Creek Elementary School, and Reedville Elementary School — are in Hillsboro School District 1J, while Hazeldale Elementary School is in Beaverton School District 48J. Results vary widely from school to school, so the district name alone tells you little about a particular building.

Indian Hills Elementary School is the clear standout: ranked 117 of 709 schools, in the 83rd percentile with 4 stars, and the only Aloha school above the state average in ELA (60.4%), math (52.7%), and science (36.0%). Its rank has climbed steadily over three years, from 204 to 162 to 117. It does this despite a 70.16% free/reduced lunch rate, the highest student-teacher ratio (19.8), and the lowest per-student spending ($20,328) in the group. At the other end, Reedville Elementary School ranks 637 of 709 (10th percentile, 1 star) with the lowest scores in the group (ELA 19.0%, math 21.0%, science 19.0%), and its rank has drifted from 606 to 637. Hazeldale Elementary School is a different contrast: its district is highly ranked (87th percentile, 4 district stars), yet the school sits at 446 of 709 and slipped from 350 to 446 in the latest year.

Across the group, average proficiency is 37.4% in ELA, 30.9% in math, and 25.8% in science — below the state in every subject, with Indian Hills accounting for much of the group's strength. Science is the weakest area for most schools, and Hazeldale's 18.6% is the lowest single subject score in the set. One broad strength: every Aloha school has chronic absenteeism below its district and the state (about 26.9% versus 33.5%), though roughly one in four students is still chronically absent. Tobias Elementary School (464 of 709) and Butternut Creek Elementary School (528 of 709) fall in between, both below state averages, with noticeable grade-level dips in math.
