Summary:

Woodland Elementary School (PK–5), Woodland Upper Elementary School (grades 6–8), and Woodland High School (grades 9–12) serve students from preschool through high school. In 2025–2026, all three had chronic absenteeism well below the state’s 15.9%: school rates ranged from 3.8% to 5.9%. Across the area, results vary substantially by subject and grade; the clearest concern is the sharp divide in math, from 36% at the upper school to 6% at the high school.

Woodland Elementary School stands out for results above the state in all-grades ELA (34% versus 26%) and math (34% versus 25%). Woodland Upper Elementary School leads in all-grades math at 36%, 11 points above the state; its grade 7 math score was 48%, 22 points above the state. But its grade 8 ELA score was 8%, 12 points below the state. Woodland High School had the highest all-grades ELA score, 36%—10 points above the state—and a 100% graduation rate in 2024–2025. Its math score of 6% was 19 points below the state, making that the most notable weakness.

Results improved in several areas: from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, all-grades ELA rose 3 points at Elementary and 13 points at High, while Upper’s math rose 5 points. High’s math remained at 6%, however. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile rank rose from 16 to 60 for Upper between 2020–2021 and 2025–2026, and from 11 to 40 for High between 2023–2024 and 2025–2026. Student-teacher ratios range from 13.6 to 16.1. In 2024–2025, free/reduced lunch eligible shares were 67% at Elementary, 69% at Upper, and 75% at High; these are context, not explanations for results. Because the schools serve different grade spans, their all-grades results are not direct comparisons of the same grades.
