Newkirk has one middle school, Newkirk Middle School, serving grades 6–8 with 185 students. Its latest all-grades results are slightly above the state in science but below it in English Language Arts (ELA) and math; the most important finding is how sharply results vary by grade, especially between strong 7th-grade math and weak 8th-grade results.
