Hilltop Elementary School is a K–6 school serving 294 students in the small northwest Ohio village of West Unity, part of the Millcreek-West Unity Local district.

Hilltop's overall trajectory is uneven but improving. The school ranked in the 45th percentile (2 stars) in 2023–2024, rose to the 51st percentile in 2024–2025, and reached the 65th percentile (3 stars) in 2025–2026 — still below its 2020–2021 peak, but a clear recovery. Chronic absenteeism has improved substantially, from 24.4% in 2021–2022 to 6.3% in 2025–2026, well below the district's 10.6% and better than most nearby schools. Only Pettisville Elementary School (2.0%) and Archbold Elementary School (5.6%) reported lower rates.
