Unioto High School is a 9–12 comprehensive high school serving 578 students in the Union-Scioto Local district in the Chillicothe area, and in 2025–26 it ranked 504 of 795 Ohio high schools — the 37th percentile with 2 stars — below its district's 50th-percentile standing and down from the 3-star, 59th–67th percentile range it held from 2020–21 through 2022–23.

Compared with nearby schools, Unioto sits in the middle of the local pack. It outperforms Chillicothe High School, about two miles away, on overall rank, graduation rate, chronic absenteeism and most test subjects, but it trails Logan Elm Middle/High School and Southeastern High School, the two strongest nearby comprehensive high schools. At 578 students, Unioto is larger than most surrounding high schools, and its 23.1 student/teacher ratio is the second-highest nearby. Graduation is a real bright spot: the rate climbed from 85.7% in 2021–22 to 97.3% in 2025–26, near the top of the local group.
