Perry Middle School is a grades 5–8 school in Perry, Ohio, serving 443 students in the Perry Local district. It is a solidly above-average school: ranked 255th of 1,046 Ohio middle schools in 2025–26 (76th percentile), down from the 84th–85th percentile in 2023–24 and 2024–25. The Perry Local district ranks 127th of 773 Ohio districts (84th percentile). That recent rank slip is worth watching, but the school remains above average overall.

Academically, upper grades are strong. Algebra I proficiency was 96.2%, far above the state’s 61.6%, and 8th-grade science was 76.9% versus 61.2% statewide. Sixth- and seventh-grade math and ELA also beat state averages. But 5th grade is a clear weak spot: math was 43.4% compared with the state’s 59.1%, and science was 60% versus 62.7%. Compared to nearby schools, Perry outperforms Madison Middle School, Shore Middle School, Eastlake Middle School, Geneva Middle School, Heritage Middle School, Henry F Lamuth Middle School, and Lakeside Junior High School, but trails Kirtland Middle School and Chardon Middle School. Memorial Middle School has a similar free/reduced-lunch rate but higher overall rank and stronger math and 8th-grade ELA results.

Attendance is a bright spot: chronic absenteeism was 15.3%, better than most nearby schools except Kirtland Middle School and Chardon Middle School.
