Summary

Groveport Elementary School is a K–5 public school at 715 Main St in Groveport, Ohio, serving about 474 students — the second-smallest of the six elementaries in Groveport Madison Local. It is a mid-pack school: in 2025–26 it ranked 952nd of 1,560 Ohio elementary schools (39th percentile, 2 stars), the second-highest of the district's elementaries behind Sedalia Elementary, and comfortably ahead of its own district, which ranks 584th of 773 Ohio districts.

Attendance is the standout strength. Chronic absenteeism is 15.3% — the lowest of any Groveport Madison Local elementary, roughly half the district's 31.2%, and improved for five straight years. Test scores are uneven by grade rather than uniformly weak: 4th grade math (72.3% proficient), 4th grade ELA (60.2%), and 5th grade science (70.5%) are the strongest results, each above the district and at or above the state. Those same results beat every nearby school with comparable data, including Winchester Trail Elementary in Canal Winchester Local, a higher-rated district. English Language Learners, students with disabilities, and low-income students each rank above the school's overall standing — the school serves those groups better than its headline number suggests.

Two things to watch: 3rd grade dropped sharply this year (48.0% proficient in both math and ELA, about 14–15 points below state), and 5th grade math has sat in the 41–45% band for four straight years, 12–15 points below state each time — even though the same grade posted the best 5th grade science result in the area. Most indicators stepped down in 2025–26, and the student–teacher ratio rose to 22:1 from 18:1. Because attendance improved in the same year, this dip is not being driven by absenteeism.
