Newton Falls Junior High School is a grades 6–8 middle school with 192 students in the small town of Newton Falls, Ohio, and the only middle school in the Newton Falls Exempted Village district. Statewide it ranks 674th of 1,046 Ohio middle schools — the 36th percentile, 2 stars — a position it has held for nearly a decade, staying between the 31st and 41st percentile every year since 2019–20. The district ranks lower still (24th percentile, 1 star), so the junior high is the stronger of the two.

Among ten nearby middle schools, Newton Falls is at or near the bottom. Western Reserve Middle School (93rd percentile), Jackson-Milton Middle School (90th) and Champion Middle School (89th) rank 50-plus percentile points higher, and only Windham Junior High School (36th percentile, 672nd) is an academic peer. Notably, Jackson-Milton serves nearly the same number of students — 210 — at the 90th percentile, so enrollment size and staffing don't appear to be the limiting factors here.
