Summary

Ohio College Preparatory School is a public charter elementary school serving 265 students in grades K-8 in Maple Heights, Ohio. The school is part of the Ohio College Preparatory School District, which is ranked 325 out of 828 districts in the state and has a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Ohio College Preparatory School faces significant challenges, including consistently high chronic absenteeism rates ranging from 56.9% to 82.4% over the past few years, which is significantly higher than the nearby Bedford City, Green Inspiration Academy, and Warrensville Heights City schools. The school's test score performance is also generally lower than the state averages across various subjects and grade levels, with the school consistently ranking in the bottom quartile of Ohio elementary schools.

However, the school's performance for specific student subgroups, such as African American students, is more mixed, with the African American student subgroup ranking relatively high (64th out of 615 schools) in 2024-2025. This suggests that the school may be able to leverage its strengths in supporting this population to improve outcomes for all students. Addressing the root causes of chronic absenteeism and ensuring adequate and equitable funding and resources could be important factors in improving the school's overall performance.

Open Quote This school is a joke.I am trying to get an understanding to how and why the assignments are allowed or not allowed to be turned in due to disciplinary standards. The staff and faculty are not in touch with the needs of their students. No communication when there is an issue. Close Quote
