Summary

Arts & College Preparatory Academy is a 7th–12th grade school in Columbus, Ohio, serving 473 students as its own district, and it ranks in the 44th percentile of Ohio high schools with 2 stars, a steep decline from 92nd percentile and 5 stars in 2015–16. Enrollment is smaller than at large nearby comprehensive high schools such as Reynoldsburg High School (2,115), Whitehall Yearling High School (993) and Independence High School (852), but larger than nearby alternative and charter schools like Mason Run High School (127) and Capital City Career Prep High School (93).

Its strongest result is completion: the 98.9% graduation rate in 2025–26 is near the best in the area, ahead of Reynoldsburg High School (94.9%), Whitehall Yearling High School (89.2%), Walnut Ridge High School (80.4%) and Independence High School (78.1%), and far above Mason Run High School (30.6%) and Focus Learning Academy of Southeastern Columbus (7.1%). Chronic absenteeism is high at 50.6%, yet it is lower than at Eastmoor Academy (67.4%), Walnut Ridge High School (80.9%) and Columbus Online Academy (97.1%), and roughly even with the Columbus City Schools District average of 53.8%.

Test scores split sharply by subject. American Government (84.1% proficient), American History (75.3%), English II (68.9%) and Biology (67.0%) match or beat state averages and most nearby schools. Math is the reverse: 8th grade math is 4.5% proficient against 52.0% statewide, and Algebra I (45.4%) and Geometry (40.3%) also trail the state. Subgroup results are uneven too: the school ranks in the 79th percentile for special education students, but 42nd percentile for low-income students and 31st percentile for female students, making equity a key area to watch.

Open Quote As a student at ACPA I've been able to grow to be a better person all becase ACPA is an EXTREMLY exepting palce to all people no matter your race, sexual prefernce, disability or feelings on any subject. Here I've made many friends white, black, and asian. Homosexual, Lesbian, Bisexual, or Straight. I have a friend with terets and a friend without legs. I atempted suicide twice last year but while at ACPA I've never stopped smiling and haven't had a single suicidal thought. Me and my friends all agree that ACPA is hevan on earth. Close Quote
