Wolf Creek Local is a small Ohio district with only two schools — Waterford Elementary School, a K–8 building with 428 students, and Waterford High School, a 9–12 building with 163 students — totaling 591 students, with the district earning 3 stars and ranking 363 of 773 schools, or the 53rd percentile.
Waterford High School is the stronger performer right now. It reports a 100.0% graduation rate and beats the state in English II (80.0% vs. 62.7%), Biology (82.1% vs. 67.0%), American Government (84.0% vs. 71.6%) and American History (83.8% vs. 73.2%), and it rose from the 53rd to the 62nd percentile. Geometry is the clear exception: only 25.6% proficient against 43.3% statewide, down from 57.5% the prior year. Chronic absenteeism is also higher here at 16.4%, compared with 11.9% at the elementary school and 13.1% districtwide.
Waterford Elementary School is more uneven. Fourth-grade math is a standout at 97.6% (state 67.3%), with 4th-grade ELA at 75.6%, 8th-grade science at 69.0% and Algebra I at 100%. Both buildings serve similar shares of economically disadvantaged students (46.96% and 43.56% free/reduced lunch), and the high school has the lower student-teacher ratio, 9.8 versus 13.1.
