Parkway Local is a small Ohio district of about 974 students in grades PK–12, where all three schools — Parkway Elementary School (PK–4, 389 students), Parkway Middle School (5–8, 279 students), and Parkway High School (9–12, 306 students) — share a single campus at 400 Buckeye St in Rockford. The district itself ranks 135th of 773 Ohio districts, in the 83rd percentile with 4 stars, so all three schools benefit from a strong shared reputation.
Performance is strong district-wide: 17 of 21 tested areas beat the state in 2025–2026, with an average margin of roughly +13 points. Parkway Middle School posts the best results and the steadiest ranking (83rd percentile for three straight years), led by 8th grade: Algebra I at 96.8% proficient versus 61.6% statewide, plus big edges in math, ELA, and science. Parkway Elementary School leads on average margin over the state (+18.7 points) and has the lowest chronic absenteeism at 4.1%. Parkway High School has the highest graduation rate at 97.7% and standout American History and English II scores, but the lowest ranking of the three (71st percentile).
Two areas are worth watching. Fifth grade, the entry year into middle school, fell below the state in all three subjects (math 50.7%, ELA 60.3%, science 52.1%) after being above state the prior year, even though the 4th grade feeding it scored 94.6% in math. High school Algebra I (60.6%) is the only area below the state two years running, and chronic absenteeism rises with grade level — 4.1% at the elementary, 10.8% at the middle, 18.2% at the high school.
