Fairfield Local (OH) is a small district serving about 850 students across three schools: Fairfield Local Elementary School (PK–5, enrollment 430), Fairfield Local Middle School (6–8, enrollment 198), and Fairfield Local High School (9–12, enrollment 222). There is no alternative school. The Fairfield Local district ranks 230 of 773 schools, at the 70th percentile with 4 stars, and about half of all students attend the elementary school.
The middle school has the strongest and most consistent academic profile, rated 4 stars in each of the last three years (73rd, 80th, and 77th percentiles), with every reported 2025–2026 test above the state average, including Algebra I at 100.0% vs. the state's 61.6%.
