Oakwood City is a small, high-performing Ohio district with five schools — three elementary, one middle, and one high school — serving roughly 2,002 students across grades PK–12. The district is rated 5 stars and ranks 12th of 773 districts statewide, placing it in the 98th percentile.

Academics are strong at every level. Oakwood High School (656 students) has a 98.8% graduation rate and ranks 12th of 795 high schools, with End-of-Course proficiency of 99.3% in Biology and 98.7% in American History. Oakwood Junior High School (319 students) ranks 12th of 1,046 middle schools and posted 100% proficiency in both Algebra I and Geometry in each of the last two years. Among elementaries, Smith Elementary School (494 students, ranked 46th of 1,560) has the highest reported 3rd grade ELA score at 97.1%, while Harman Elementary School (403 students, ranked 52nd of 1,560) reaches 93.8% in 4th grade Math and 95% in 5th grade ELA.

Attendance is the biggest contrast between schools.
