Summary

Cassadaga Valley Middle/High School is a public school serving grades 6-12 in Sinclairville, New York, with 384 students. The school is part of the Cassadaga Valley Central School District, which is ranked 662 out of 874 school districts in the state and has a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Cassadaga Valley Middle/High School has been ranked between 366 and 613 out of over 1,200 New York high schools in recent years, with a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger. This places the school in the middle to lower-middle range compared to other high schools in the state. The school's performance for female, male, and low socioeconomic status students is generally in the middle range, but the performance for white students and special education students is in the lower range. The school's 4-year graduation rate of 84.3% to 88.7% is slightly below the state average, and its dropout rate of 4.5% to 9.8% is higher than the state average.

One significant concern is Cassadaga Valley Middle/High School's high chronic absenteeism rate, which has been between 16.9% and 34.1% in recent years, significantly higher than the state average. The school's academic performance on state assessments and Regents exams is generally below the state and district averages, with proficiency rates ranging from the low 20s to the high 80s depending on the subject and grade level. While the school has some bright spots, such as strong performance on the Regents exams in Global History and English Language Arts, its overall academic performance has declined over the past several years, suggesting the need for targeted interventions and support to improve student outcomes.

Open Quote If I could give the school zero stars I would. Considering I was a student here, I have a more clear point of view. This school is out of control. They claim to have a zero tolerance policy, however, that is most certainly not the case. Bullying is so bad here another student I knew and her family had to move away in order for her to feel comfortable going to school again. I myself was bullied to the point of feeling miserable and uncomfortable to even go to school. Certain people that were suppose to be in place to make me feel comfortable and understood contributed to the unnerving feelings I had here. My parents seriously considered homeschooling me. I was so distracted by how uncomfortable I felt, it was hard to pay attention in class at times. My favorite part of the day quickly became the bus ride. There are a handful of teachers this school, however, that went out of their way to make sure I was okay that day. That is the only positive thing I can say about the school quite honestly. If you're considering having your children go to school here, don't. Close Quote
