As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Growing up green in Jamaica queens worst school. I saw other parents comments but didn't listen. The principal is a smoker, the teachers label kids, punishment They take all the bad students and put them in a room make them learn the rules. So the teachers can teach other students without disruption. There is no backyard. Children are there longer hours without losing energy. If your child doesn't fit there curriculum will try to take them out or put an IEP without parents consent. By law social workers and the school team with psychiatrist are the ones to get involved not the dean or the teachers. Poor handling on children behavior better off public school all curriculum are all the same private, charter schools and public schools. Don't frustrate your kid when they don't like an environment. Open Quote Grossly unqualified school, no child should be able to go to the school. Bullying is always present and addressed by the ineffective leader ship. The dean as well as the principal are both the most condescending people you’ll ever meet and should not be trusted with any children let alone hundreds. There are no afterschool programs nor are there any tutoring or sports because they are consistently canceled for no reason so there is no consistency. Kids are jumped outside the school frequently and no safety plans are made. The school does not address any issues. The school caters to children who are struggling and does nothing to help them. Open Quote it is just like any other pubic school but this one is about making money from your kids seats. is a small school and is crowded. teachers are mostly good except for a few who see it as a job (yes we see you) ignore emails from us parents and do the basics to look like they are doing their job well. special needs kids used to have a good system but the new people running the department shrug everything off and look at you like your crazy. parking is crazy. there is no parking and you will get a ticket if you park in the driveway beside the school. subway is always breaking down. is ok cuz it's small and most of the teachers work hard. but they don't do well in state tests. Open Quote Wonderful school with a real philosophy and vision... up and coming, don't let the test scores fool you... they're not turning away ESL and special ed kids, so they don't inflate the numbers like other places. Very community-centered, very diverse, and very welcoming. They also have a middle school opening up in 2014. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
