Academically, Miller Sandy Searles Elementary School has consistently ranked in the top half of Nevada elementary schools, with strong performance in mathematics and reading proficiency that exceeds the Clark County and Nevada averages. However, the school's science proficiency rates are lower than the district and state averages. When compared to nearby schools, Miller Sandy Searles Elementary School performs better academically than some, such as Diaz Ruben P Elementary School and King Junior Martin Luther Elementary School, but lags behind others, such as Heard Lomie G Elementary School and Tate Myrtle Elementary School, which have higher proficiency rates and statewide rankings. The school's per-student spending and student-teacher ratio are similar to nearby schools, suggesting that factors beyond just staffing and funding may be influencing student outcomes.

Open Quote I wouldn't give this school a star if I could. My son has had so many problems with bullies at this school. And the teachers scream at the students all the time. When you come to the school with any issues. They sweep it under the table. They make it seem like you and your child are of little concern. All they seem to want is money for fundraising all the time. Worse school any of my 5 children have ever attended. Teachers don't tell u how your kids are doing. Instead they single them out and scream at them in front of other students. When your child asks for the teachers help because they didn't understand something. They are told to figure it out and then put to work alone when other kids are put in groups. This school is more a jail than a school. Close Quote
