Summary

Mojave High School is a public high school in North Las Vegas, Nevada, serving 2,463 students in grades 9-12. The school is part of the Clark County School District, which is ranked 5 out of 12 in the state and has a 4-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Mojave High School faces significant challenges, consistently ranking in the bottom half of Nevada high schools in academic performance. In the 2024-2025 school year, only 6.8% of Mojave students were proficient or better in the EOC Science Exam, compared to 23.1% statewide and 22.9% in Clark County. The school's four-year graduation rate has hovered around 81-86% in recent years, slightly below the state and district averages. Additionally, Mojave High School has a very high chronic absenteeism rate, ranging from 25.6% to 50.0% in the last few years, significantly higher than the state and district averages.

The struggles faced by Mojave High School are not unique within the North Las Vegas area, as nearby schools such as Desert Rose High School, Cheyenne High School, and The Delta Academy J-Senior High School also face low academic performance and high chronic absenteeism rates. However, the College of Southern Nevada High School East, a nearby public charter school, stands out with significantly higher academic performance, ranking among the top 15-18 high schools in Nevada in recent years, suggesting that alternative educational models may be more effective in this region.
