As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote This is an Amazing School! They are big on community first and giving back! This is the oldest established school in Southern Nevada. Since it's the oldest school, multiple generations of teachers have, and are teaching there. This creates very high accountability, as well as, cohesiveness with Student and Teacher, and the Teachers truly do have the best interest of the student. Basic Academy is the only school that has a "Real" Home Coming Parade that actually goes down a street for a few miles passing by the local community and families. As far as I know, this is the only school that hosts a sit down dinner and dance for Prom! As for diversity, Basic Academy has an amazing balance of every people group across the Fruited Plain and Islands : ) If the Student applies themselves the teachers will move "Heaven & Earth" to do what ever it takes to help the Student achieve greatness! 2 of my kids were accepted and graduated from Point Loma University in San Diego. One is now an engineering teacher in Southern California and the other is presently interviewing for an Engineering position in Boise Idaho. My third kid has been accepted to Coast Guard Academy to be an officer. The Coast Guard only accepts about 250 cadets a year to this institution. My brother-in-law also graduated from Basic Academy and was accepted to the US Air Force Academy. There are other students I have met who have received either full ride scholarships to or accepted to prestigious schools like Harvard, Duke, Colorado School of Mines, UNLV, SUU and many other schools. Some of our top leaders in The State and local Industries of Nevada have graduated from Basic Academy. Greatness, has shown through 1st in State for Baseball X2 years, 1st in Country for ROTC X14 yrs, Top honors in Band, Orchestra, Drama, Football, Track and the list goes on. My daughter's Valedictorian speech sums it up best https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJd9mXmDV7Q&t=114s Don't be caught up in the "New is Better" High School mentality, as Basic Academy is Southern Nevada's best kept secret! About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
