Rocinante High is a small public school in Farmington, New Mexico, serving 133 students in grades 6–12 as part of Farmington Municipal Schools in the Four Corners area. Its wider grade span sets it apart from nearby high schools, which serve grades 9–12, and it enrolls far fewer students than the large comprehensive high schools in the region.

On state rankings, Rocinante has generally placed in the bottom fifth of New Mexico high schools. In 2025–2026 it ranked 125th of 132 schools (5th percentile), and in 2024–2025 it ranked 122nd of 131 (7th percentile), though 2023–2024 was a striking exception at 70th of 172 (59th percentile). Compared with neighbors, Rocinante's 5th-percentile rank trails Farmington High (35th percentile), Piedra Vista High (47th), Aztec High (42nd), Bloomfield High (27th), and Kirtland Central High (10th). Its graduation rate exceeds only Vista Nueva High's 64.7% among nearby schools. The sharpest contrast is with San Juan College High School, less than a mile away in the same district, which ranked in the 82nd percentile with 74.65% ELA proficiency and a 99.5% graduation rate. Rocinante's 2023–2024 results show stronger outcomes are possible, but the two years since have reversed sharply, leaving open whether the graduation gains will hold.
