Taos Academy is a 251-student public school serving grades 5–12 in Taos, New Mexico, operating as its own district and ranking among the strongest schools in its region. In 2025–2026 it placed 30th of 132 New Mexico high schools (77th percentile, 4 stars), and its 2024–25 graduation rate was 92.1%, well above the state's 80.6%. Test scores are above state averages across the board: all-grades language arts 54.08 vs. 43.34, mathematics 32.65 vs. 25.54, and science 57.35 vs. 33.4.
Compared with Taos High, the largest local high school, Taos Academy is ahead on every available high-school measure: 11th-grade science 75 vs. 39.1, SAT ELA 56.25 vs. 40.6, SAT math 25 vs. 11.28, and a graduation rate 21.2 points higher (92.1% vs. 70.9%).
