Lincoln Middle is a 6–8 middle school serving 805 students in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, a suburban community in the Albuquerque metro area, and it is part of Rio Rancho Public Schools. For 2025–26 it ranks 46th of 191 New Mexico middle schools — the 76th percentile — earning 4 stars and placing it well above the state median. All-grade proficiency was 56.23% in language arts and 37.17% in math, both above the district (54.07% and 34.72%) and well above the state (43.34% and 25.54%). Eighth-grade science was 54.10%, roughly level with the district but far above the state's 34.19%.

Within its own district, Lincoln is the second-strongest of the four nearby Rio Rancho middle schools. It trails Mountain View Middle but outperforms Rio Rancho Middle School and Eagle Ridge Middle in reading, math, and 8th-grade science. Among nearby schools outside the district, Desert Ridge Middle is the clear academic outlier at the 94th percentile, while Tony Hillerman Middle School sits just behind Lincoln at the 75th percentile. Lincoln is well ahead of L.B. Johnson Middle, James Monroe Middle, Taylor Middle, and Spartan Learning Academy. Reading is stronger than math overall, and 7th-grade reading (62.55%) is a standout. The main weak spot is 6th-grade math, where 32.84% of students were proficient — about 8 points below the district and only slightly above the state — while 7th- and 8th-grade math results are strengths.
